Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at contact@renoscreed.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Renoscreed Fibre is a fibre-reinforced, high-strength screed designed for thicker levelling jobs, from 3mm up to 50mm. It’s ideal for uneven floors or when extra durability is needed, especially over insulation or timber substrates

Yes, Renoscreed Fibre is compatible with underfloor heating systems. Make sure the pipes are pressure tested and securely fixed before pouring the screed.

Renoscreed Level is walkable in as little as 2–3 hours and ready for tiling after 3 hours at 2mm thickness. Always check site conditions for drying speed.

Yes, but the tile surface must be clean, abraded, and properly primed with Renoscreed Grit Prime before applying Renoscreed Contract.

Renoscreed CS Primer is designed specifically for sealing calcium sulphate or anhydrite screeds. It prevents chemical reactions and improves adhesion before using cement-based products.

Always check the moisture content. The screed should be below 85% RH for levelling and below 75% RH before installing floor coverings. If unsure, test it.

Yes. Always mechanically remove laitance from calcium sulphate screeds before applying Renoscreed CS Primer to ensure proper bonding.

Grit Prime is a textured bonding primer that improves adhesion on dense, non-porous surfaces like tiles, DPMs, metal, or smooth concrete. It creates a rough surface for the screed or leveller to grip.

Yes, as long as the timber is flooring-grade, securely fixed, and clean. Apply Grit Prime directly to plywood or chipboard before screeding.

Renoscreed RTU (Ready-To-Use) Primer is a general-purpose floor primer for use on concrete, screeds, and other porous surfaces before applying levelling compounds or screed. It helps prevent pinholes and improves flow..

Renoscreed RTU (Ready-To-Use) Primer is a general-purpose floor primer for use on concrete, screeds, and other porous surfaces before applying levelling compounds or screed. It helps prevent pinholes and improves flow.

No. It's ready to use straight from the container—just stir it and apply with a roller or brush.

Yes, Renoscreed External is designed as a durable wearing surface and can be left exposed. However, to maximise the long-term performance and protect against weathering, we recommend applying a suitable surface finish or sealant. This helps preserve the appearance and durability of the screed in outdoor environments.

It’s ideal for patios, balconies, garage floors, and outdoor areas where a durable levelling layer is needed.

Hi-Bond is a two-part epoxy primer used as a bonding agent for sand and cement screeds or as a DPM. It’s perfect for concrete and non-porous surfaces where strong adhesion is essential.

Yes, for bonded sand and cement screeds, the screed must be applied while the Hi-Bond is still wet. For levelling screeds, a full quartz scatter is needed on the second coat while it’s still tacky

Yes. When applied in two coats, Hi-Bond acts as an effective surface DPM before screeding or levelling.

Apply the second coat of Hi-Bond, then immediately broadcast Renoscreed Quartz Scatter over the wet surface until fully covered. Once dry, vacuum off excess before applying leveller.

Yes, for best results, the correct Renoscreed primer should be used for the substrate type. This ensures proper bonding, reduces moisture issues, and helps avoid failure of the floor system.
